Downy mildew tolerance
This innovative Beacon Impatiens has a high resistance to the currently known and widely prevalent Plasmopara obducens, which cause downy mildew.
Because of the downy mildew tolerance it is finally a good idea to grow, sell and plant Impatiens walleriana again. Buzzy Lizzies used to be a favourite for many consumers because of its versatility. It’s the 1st choice for bringing colour into the shade. A couple of years ago this important crop basically disappeared because of downy mildew. Beacon will give all partners in the chain good opportunities to regain sales..
Better pack performance
Compared to other mildew tolerant series, Beacon has higher series uniformity. As well-known is this very important for mixed trolley actions and colourful packs. The growth of Beacon is more controlled for better pack performance. It’s easier to hold and has therefore an improved shelf life.
Beacon can be sold in value packs or in high value pots up to 11-12 cm. Vast Landscape plantings with Impatiens Buzzy Lizzies are finally possible again.

Season-long colour, even in the shade
We are adding Beacon Rose for coming season to complete the series. Also this new colour is fitting perfectly to the series in habit and timing.
The downy mildew tolerance has been proven in many trials. Your customers will not be disappointed with the summer performance at all.
Be part of the rising of a classic crop. Make Impatiens Beacon your 1st choice and support your customers in bringing back colour into the shade!
