Our international locations
Today we are an international enterprise with our main office in Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht, the Netherlands. We have production locations for propagation in Portugal, Kenya and Ethiopia, production locations for young plants in the Netherlands and breeding locations in the Netherlands and Germany.
With sales offices and agencies in all the major markets, we have the largest sales team in Europe, ensuring the best market penetration and distribution options. Our local representatives and agents have been working with Florensis for many years and are good and reliable partners to our customers.
Our cut flower business, Florensis Cut Flowers (FCF), is Europe’s largest producer of seed propagated young plants for cut flower production. Every year, Florensis Cut Flowers supplies more than 340 million young plants to professional cut flower growers around the world.
The Netherlands, Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht
The Florensis head office is located at the 20 ha production and breeding location in Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht. A total of 180 permanent employees work here. Besides the greenhouses, distribution and breeding, you will find here our HR, marketing, supply chain, product management, sales and finance.
The greenhouses consist of 11 ha. of which 6,5 ha. is for production. Here you will find our cultivation department, breeding, trial garden, sowing lines, nucleus stock and R&D, among other things. Annually more than 3.2 million trays with young plants leave our company from here via the advanced distribution department. Moreover, our head office has the most beautiful show garden of the Netherlands.
The Netherlands, Dinteloord
Florensis Dinteloord is a modern and sustainable production location, which opened end of 2019. Meanwhile, 35 permanent colleagues work in the total greenhouse area of 6 ha. and the processing hall of 5,000 m2. At this high-tech nursery you will find our 30 sticking robots that together stick 75,000 cuttings per hour (24/7) and the young plant production from cuttings.
The Netherlands, Rijsenhout
Florensis Cut Flowers
Florensis Cut Flowers is Europe's largest supplier of young plants of cut flowers from seed. This 5.1 ha production location and sales office is in Rijsenhout (NL), near Schiphol Airport. Here you will find our nursery, sowing lines, advanced sorting robots, distribution and a small trial garden. In addition, we have a fast growing team responsible for product management, supply chain and sales. With a total of over 40 permanent employees, we yearly supply more than 340 million young plants to professional cut flower growers worldwide.
Kenya
Florensis Kenya is our production location in the horticultural area Naivasha (100 km north of Nairobi). Here we propagate cuttings of annuals and perennials. The location is 14 hectares in size and has 400 permanent employees. Besides our greenhouses, we have a clinic, a Florensis village including an child education centre and daycare. We undertake many sustainability projects for the community, one of one of which has led to a lot of wonderful animals at our riparian land, next to the farm.
Ethiopia, Koka
Florensis Ethiopia PLC. is our oldest production location in Koka (100 km south of the capital Addis Ababa). It covers 15 hectares and employs 700 permanent staff. Here we propagate cuttings of annuals and with Lavandula, Calocephalus and Osteospermum as real winners.
Besides our production activities, we undertake, together with our other Ethiopian location, many sustainability projects for our community, including the establishment of a day care centre for orphans, the construction of a secondary school and reforestation. The latter has resulted in the beautiful Jogo Forest including a busy coffee house.
Ethiopia, Ejersa
Florensis Abyssinia is built in 2016 and is our second production location in Ethiopia, (100 km south of the capital Addis Ababa). It covers 14 hectares and employs 400 permanent staff. In the modern greenhouses we focus on propagating cuttings of Pelargonium and Poinsettia and produce these cuttings in a very sustainable way.
Besides our production activities, we undertake, together with our other Ethiopian location, many sustainability projects for our community, including the establishment of a day care centre for orphans, the construction of a secondary school and reforestation. The latter has resulted in the beautiful Jogo Forest including a busy coffee house.
Portugal
Florensis Portugal is our 4.5 ha production location in Pegões, 50 km east of Lisbon. With a good team of 25 permanent employees, we produce here vegetative propagation material of annuals and perennials, with URC (unrooted cuttings) of Calibrachoa; URC & RC (rooted cuttings) of Sedum as our focus products. Besides this we produce seed of many perennial species and in 2021 the location is extended with a brand-new multiplication area for tissue culture. In the peak season our team extends up to 220 people.

Germany, Quedlinburg
Florensis Quedlinburg is a breeding location of one ha. Our small friendly team of about 15 employees is engaged in the development of new genetics in various annuals and perennials. And did you know that the medieval 'Altstadt' of Quedlinburg with its more than 1200 half-timbered houses is on the UNESCO World Heritage List?
Belgium
Our Belgian sales office is located in Sint Amands (between Antwerp and Ghent) and is a 1.5-hour drive from our head office in Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht (NL).
Poland
Florensis Polska is our sales office in Warsaw. Our enthusiastic young team of 7 colleagues serves the rapidly growing Polish floriculture market from here and on the road. Our 4 Sales Representatives are located in different parts of the country and our 2 Customer Service colleagues and Sales Manager run the office. Despite such a small team, Florensis Polska is one of the leaders in the market of young plants suppliers and one of the fastest growing companies in the industry.
Germany, Weeze
Florensis Deutschland is our office in Weeze, in the center of the German horticulture. With an office in a real castle and our Sales Representatives on the road, our team of 25 colleagues serves the German, Austrian and Swiss market. The office is only a 1.5 hour drive from our head office in Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht (NL). This ensures a regular personal exchange with our international colleagues.
